QT Update

Just updated and it downloaded something from on2 Technologies. It is an encoder for streaming media. It appears to be VP3 version.



Is this an old update or new? Looks like newer versions, VP4 stream movies.

    VP3 is pretty old, but it's a nice codec...arguably better than Sorenson 3 for lower bitrates.



    VP4 is still very new and not yet available for QuickTime, and it seems to be very processor intensive by today's stanards.



    It claims "Near-DVD quality" at 450 Kbps...which would be remarkable...a 2 hour movie would be slightly over ~400 MB.
