I think there is a transparent 'documents enclosed' pouch stuck to the grey box. The receipt in that should list everything about your PowerBook and anything else you've bought in that shipment.

Why not phone or email apple now instead? They're usually very good.

If you ordered it from the Apple Store, everything is listed on the order receipt online.

Well thats a long story but the short of it is, apple was sending me a 17" replacement for a defective powerbook that I purchased in August. They were real nice and I was looking forward to getting it.....well before they shipped it out the new powerbook came out....so I called them and politely asked to stop the shipment of the old one and gave them the specs I wanted for the new one.

They were non committal on this and I can't get anyone to tell me whats going on with it....it's kinda like I have become an annoyance to them, I have a powerbook on the way supposedly but have no tracking number or any idea what they sent.

I have not had a good apple experience so far. My case number does not even show up on the support page

Are you going through Executive? If you are, they'll be understanding. Just ask them what to do. You could always go the harder route and sell it, and get a new one.

well, they just assigned me to an applecare specialist named Jason, and I am just trying to be nice because if I start pissing them off then I know I will really be stuck, but this guy has just ignored my emails, the one time he called me, he said that it already shipped, but that was last weds and I have been unable to get a tracking number or anything....Kinda really don't know what to do, I asked in an email just to give me a store credit and I would just reorder from scratch but they did not respond to that email either.

the part that actually has me upset is that I notified him not to ship this a week before he called and said he shipped it, claimed it was automated and their was nothing he could do....hard for me to believe that they cant stop a shipment with a weeks notice

#1) The automation isn't a claim. it's a fact. He was informing you.

#2) It's not that hard to believe. Unless you cancel your order from Apples order page trying to get this done manually when there are 1000's of orders, and probably more emails going to a limited # of representatives is going to be tough. A new version just came out, and they are going to be flooded with email, orders, and a lot of stupid email from people just asking questions, or complaints about how they haven't updated the specs to their liking.

Personally I think you already committed yourself to the previous powerbook, but if you want to be sure just refuse it no matter what it is. Then re-order one.

thanks lundy, that apparently is for those who ordered the powerbook a day or so before release, I only have a case number instead of an order number, thanks though, I am sure it will all work out, Ill write again when it is all resolved. Scott
