I recently bought an apple Ibook. 9.2 I believe it is(hey it was only 30 bucks). But I can't get internet on it. I plug it in and press Internet explorer, but it won't go. It came from a different area code if that helps. Thank you in advance.
OK. If you are using SBC DSL, set up your DSL modem to use PPPoE with all your connection info. See below.
To connect to your modem, plug in your ethernet cable and in the TCP/IP control panel select DHCP. Type in your modem's default IP address, something like http://192.168.100.1, into a web browser. Then you should get a configuration page with a bunch of blanks to fill in. Once this info is in, restart the modem and you should be online.
If you are using a 56K modem, there should be a modem or "remote access" control panel where you can enter your phone numbers and connection types.
My OS 9 is a little rusty, but I think that is close.

For starters: What ISP or connection type? Wireless/Ethernet/Modem?
I'm sorry, but what is an isp?
