Firmware upgrade for DVD Recorder
I need your help!
I am trying to record on to DVD+R Dual Layer DVDs.
I cannot find the firmware update anywhere. When I go to the DVD manufacturers website all update appear to be for windows only.
Does anyone have a link to the upgrade for my Macs pioneer DVD drive?
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tom

But assuming that it's a recent model Pioneer internal drive, let me answer your question:
go here: http://lasvegas.rpc1.org/
download the firmware updater
Go to the pioneer website, download the latest firmware for windows. Uncompress it and take out only the actual drivers.
Use the firmware updater to update the drive.
All of these types of questions can be answered at www.xlr8yourmac.com so you should check it out sometime.
I am not very good at this, sorry.
My model is Pionerr DVD-RW DVR-109
Would you be able to link me to the update I need?
I will then try to ge the updates I require from the windows firmware.
Thanks
Tom

As for the firmware files, I discovered that it requires a windows machine to extract the firmware. I must've used VPC. It's been a while so I forgot about that part.
You need to access a Win PC or find a friend that can help you out.
FYI, the link to the Pioneer page is:
