Networking w/ windows and remote desktop

My roommate has an xp pc, and I have windows file sharing on and can access my files from his pc but can seem to find a way to access his files from my PB. Also, I am having trouble with remote desktop connection. I'm not sure what to use for his computers name (where would I find this) Thanks

    i don't know about the first promblem but for remote desktop try chickens of the vnc

    For windows networking to work you should be in same workgroup with your friends computer, use directory access\\services\\smb/cifs to setup it correctly, I think that should make it.
