Freeze when selecting restart/shutdown (OS9)

Hi,

I'm running OS 9.0.2 on a G4 256/400 (sawtooth) with Digi ProTools LE and a Verizon DSL connection (which gave me so much grief on installation that I had to re-zero my main drive, and start from scratch).

Everything seems fine now, EXCEPT that my system freezes when 'restart' or 'shut down' are selected from the 'Special' menu.

Any thoughts?

Can I offer any more information?

Thanks!! <img src="graemlins/hmmm.gif" border="0" alt="[Hmmm]" />

Are any programs running while you select shutdown/restart?

btw, this would be much better suited for the Genius Bar.

Thanks for pointing out the Genius Bar...I've posted there as well.

I've got Norton 6.0 doing its thing at shutdown.

    No good?

Disable the norton thing at shutdown. Try deleting, or at least moving, the finder preferences.
