I have come accross a powerbook 1400, and the password is lost. Does anyone know how to reset it or bypass it or figure it out or something?

You will need a systems disk, most likely 9.0. Restart with the C held down and you will be able view what is on the computer. There are no programs that I know of to locate passwords so what you will have to do is reinstall the OS so you can then put your own password in. Those machines have 603 chips in them and are slow, 117 to 166 Mhz and don't support OSX. About the only good they are for now a day are for email and surfing. By now the battery will be dead and unless you have a pcmcia wireless card for it ( the card will cost more than what this unit is worth) you cann't surf because it has no ethernet connection. The 1400 was not that good of a machine. The 3400 which came out several months later was a much better machine.
