need to fix damaged pictures in encrypted .dmg

i made a .dmg encrypted image back when I was running 10.2 and i put some pictures in there and other files.....they got corropted and now the images are weird....the thumbnail pictures are perfect but when i open them the image is seen but the some areas the color has moved and lines appear.....it looks disorted in some areas...is it possible to revert them to the original way before the corroption.....is there a freeware or really inexpensive software out there?
i am currently running 10.4.3 and in a powerbook 15" 1.5 1gb
