iPod DVD quality ripping
Hello.
My contribution for watching almost DVD quality movies on your Video iPod using MAXIMUM (not 320 x 160 ) pixel resolution and using Handbrake .
This excel spreadsheet was made using contributions from MAc OS X tips and tested. Just use Handbrake and input the original movie pic resolution, choose encoding (got better results with MPEG 4) and quality ( for bitrate )
Results are really good. Ripped almost 50 movies and results viewed on TV are excellent.

After inputing the data (getting it in Handbrake), it downsamples the movie in 16x16 blocks until the block number is less than the maximum allowed, for no flickering on iPod screen. The Max. Number of Blocks is hardware dependent and refer to the latest (and only) iPod Video incarnation. As you can see the Max Number of Blocks in considerably smaller when using H.264, so this encoding should be used on your personal preference.
