webdav - why so few providers?
It seems webdav is a nice alternative to ftp, and allowing you to set up an alternative to .Macs iDisk. Thus I went looking for web host plans with this feature, but it seems there are only a very few offering webdav, and those being usually the most expensive.
Can somebody answer as to why this is -
- Am I just looking for the wrong keywords? perhaps webdav is known under another acronym or name?
- Or is it because its a security risk for the providers, or perhaps for users?
- Or is it tecnically difficult or manhour-requiring?
- Other reasons?
