my Superdrive runs fast

hi -i got a dual2.7 powermac G5 about 2 months ago,it has been running well,the other day,i decided to watch 24 (dvd),and it almost sounds like chipmunks,Apple is sending a tech to replace drive and troubleshoot,but it seems weird,anyon ever see this???i it's not the logic board (all my auth's would be gone!)thanks KG
