Can't get sound to work with Virtual PC 5. I have looked through the prefs but the only thing is 'Sound Mute'

I have the Windows 95 disk image from my older version of VPC installed (Version 2) and it is running on an 800Mhz G4 iMac with 265Mb RAM.

If any could offer some advice that would be great!

Get more RAM. It probably won't do anything for your VPC audio problems, but if you intend to boot VPC fairly regularly thenyou need more RAM. 256MB really is the minimum for acceptable OSX performance, emulation requires a bit more than that.

RAM is a possibility, and if that's the case, lower the PC RAM, so that there's more available for both the Mac OS and the Virtual PC application. Since it's Win 95, you could take it down to 32 megs with little impact.

My issue with VPC is that when I try to use a CD with an emulated PC under OS X, it locks up the emulator, and I'm lucky if the system successfully restarts afterwards. I force quit VPC, but other processes from the app are running in the background, and any attempt to end them fails. The system remains usable for at least a time, but is not in good shape. I have to go to OS 9 just to use CDs with VPC, and that's lame. It originally started with an older OS X installation (reinstalled to try and fix this) and an update to VPC 5.0.2, and I have't been able to recover since.
