Garage band problem

when I mixdown a song into iTunes, at the end of the song there is always like a 4 or 5 second interval of nothing, dead air. I want the song to be over when its over, I dont want that extra four or five seconds there. This is the iLife 06 Garageband thats doing this. Anybody know what to do?
