3rd party dvd player?

My dad has an eMac that came with only a cd drive (first gen, cheapest model, i believe). He just bought a LaCie external dvd reader/writer, and he wants to be able to watch dvds on the emac. He said that apple DVD player only supports internal drives, so he asked me to find him a 3rd party dvd player.



Any suggestions? Any hacks to make the Apple dvd player work?
