Where can you download IE X?

Who's bright idea was it to make Internet Explorer available exclusively through Software Update? I accidentally deleted it a few weeks ago thinking I wouldn't need it anymore now that I had Chimera and OmniWeb, but now I realize I need a browser with decent Java support (Chimera lacks it, OmniWeb always crashes). And since I deleted IE, Software Update doesn't recognize it anymore.

So where on earth can you get plain old IE X 5.1.4 if you don't have it on your system?

Mozilla has a far better Java support than either IE or Omniweb and I expect Chimera will soon surpass them (in all respects):

Where'd you get the bright idea to delete Explorer? Its size is insignificant compared to today?s hard drive's capacities. Why not just leave it for insurance?

LOL...nice link to mactopia. If you had done your research you'd know you can't DL it from there.

I also did this in the past and had to re-install it off the system disc <img src="graemlins/oyvey.gif" border="0" alt="[No]" /> I wish I could give you a better answer, but I don't have one.

I have to laugh at someone saying why did you toss it...the better question is why isn't it downloadable?

Have fun and be sure to thank Microsoft for the easy fix <img src="graemlins/lol.gif" border="0" alt="[Laughing]" />

    "How to get Internet Explorer

    For Mac OS X

If you are using Mac OS X, you can install Internet Explorer 5.1 for Mac OS X from the Mac OS X CD-ROM. It is not available as a download from Mactopia.

For Mac OS 8.1 to 9.x

You can download ? for free ? the latest version of Internet Explorer right here at Mactopia.

Sorry my bad. I wasn't paying attention and that was the first place that came to mind. I never actually looked to see I just assumed that Microsoft would have put the download there.
