Almost any time I try to run a film clip when I am in Safari, I get the message that Safari cannot find the plug in to run application/x-mplayer2.

Any suggestions?

Possibly you are downloading a film from a Linux style site. MPlayer is an open source Linux player. The media will be encoded using the mime-type for it. If you right-click and download the file, you should be able to play it in MPlayer for OS X, VLC or possibly quicktime. There are apps to map mime-types since Safari doesn't have a built-in way to do it but I haven't managed to get them to work.
