A windows friend sent me this file by way of Adium.
What type of filie is it and how do I open it?
Thanks in advance for you help.

A dot LNK file is the equivlent of an alias, ie it is a link to the file rather than the file itself. on it's own it is useless. Get your friend to right-click on the file and hit properties, then hit something like "Find Target". It will then take him/her to the actual file which (s)he can then email you.

So they sent me the link to the file and not the file. lol
