iMovie quality...

Does anybody out there know of a way for iMovie to put out near DVD res. quality? On my PC I can use Vegas Video to create a home movie, and I select a higher output quality that can fit about 30 - 40 minutes of video onto one CD. When I use iMovie the outputs aren't that great. I even set it to Uncompressed at one point, and still had horrible pixel blur and whatnot when I played the rendered file. If I leave it in it's intended window size it's fine, and I know maximizing the window will distort it some, but shouldn't be that bad. Another example is the text that is inserted into the video. It comes out all blocky <if thats even a word> and pixelated. Someone please have my answer, I really don't want to go back to making videos on my PC when I own a Mac. Thanks to everyone in advance.

Check your iMovie preferences. Make sure you are exporting at the resolution you want, not some 320x240 BS. Then make sure you are using a good codec. If you want flawless, use 'Animation' or set Sorenson to max quality.

BTW I never use iMovie, these are lucky guesses.
