Buying a mates 17" G4 PB (1.67ghz, 80g HD, 1g RAM), how much ?

As title, how much should I expect to pay for my mates 2yo laptop in GBP (£). He's possibly upgrading to an MBP and I was going to get a Mini to replace my old G3 PB, but if the deal's right then I may have his. He reckons IRO £700, but there are some for about half that on eBay. Watcha reckon ?
