iTunes Store Movies: what kind of surround sound do they have?

Could someone who already bought a movie on the iTS tell me, what kind of audio it has? Is it AC3? If not, what is it? Can I watch the movie with my Mac hooked up to a 5.1 surround system via optical cable, just like I can with a DVD?

    steve said dolby digital soround? or was a i dreaming? so its either 2.1 or 5.1

    I'm interested in the details: which codec is it (so I can make my ripped movies with surround sound), how does it work, etc.

    I've seen at least one post reporting the movie they downloaded was stereo.
