Audio sound effects stop!

Hello everyone,



I usually leave my PB on without a restart for about a week for so at a time, which is perfectly normal as far as I know, however I have noticed, especially with iChat, is that all the small sound effects like the Send/Receive an IM sound, stop. Also, in the Sound Effect tab in System Preferences won't play any of the sound effects, like Sosumi. I can still play music with iTunes and it plays fine, and also the volume control "clicks" still play.



Something with coreaudiod process maybe?



What's wrong?



A restart fixes this problem, but why does it start in the first place?

    i found a fix of sorts, Quit iChat, and the kill (Force Quit) "coreaudiod", then restart iChat. It works, but what an inconvenience.
