Virus in Virtual PC ? :

what happens if you pick up a virus in virtual PC?



do you lose that virtual partition? or the whole drive? does it affect the mac's files?

    it will only influence the VirtualPC partition/image. It will not do anything to your mac nor the HD its on.

    IIRC, one of the few documented cases so far involved the virus crippling the VPC Win2k session's ability to empty the trash (eventually overloading the trash on an actual pc)



    the workings of the os X mac were unaffected and the user could close the VPC session and manually kill the trash files... no harm no foul per se.



    can't recall if this was linked via apple or VPC, but if you search for "virus, VPC, win, os X" you should find more info
