I have been all over the web, but I trust the nice folks here more than some paid-off search engine.

So let's hear it- what is the COOLEST shareware that you are using on your Mac?

My three favorite pieces of shareware for Mac OS X are:

    1. <a href="http://www.panic.com/transmit/"; target="_blank">Transmit</a> by Panic (FTP program).

    2. <a href="http://www.graphicconverter.net"; target="_blank">GraphicConverter</a> by Lemke Software (photo editing).

    3. <a href="http://www.glu.com/products/weatherpop/index.html"; target="_blank">WeatherPop</a> from Glucose Development (weather in your menu bar).

I also have to mention the <a href="http://chimera.mozdev.org/"; target="_blank">Chimera (Navigator)</a> web browser, even though it is open-source freeware.

    My most recent faves:

    1. <a href="http://www.iconfactory.com/cb_home.asp"; target="_blank">CandyBar</a> from the Iconfactory

    2. <a href="http://www.unsanity.com/haxies/cleardock/"; target="_blank">ClearDock</a> from Unsanity

Those two have kept me busy for the last week or so. Very fun!!!

    Enjoy!

Do a search and you'll find several other "What shareware/freeware can't you live without?" threads as well.

    1. Unsanity : fruitmenu, cleardock, windowshade x

    2. Panic : Candybar

    3. Graphic Converter [for simple edits]

okay, i am resurrecting this thread because i finally have found a piece of shareware that i just can't turn down anymore. you know them... TLA Systems and their product, http://www.dragthing.com/

i mean, it still does things i do not need, like putting the trash on the desktop (my desktop is cluttered as it is), but the sheer fact that every dock can now be made in "drawer" fashion, transparency with tabs, sliding out of the way, etc. etc. and customizable out the wazoo... i kinda wish that it could somehow accommodate minimized windows, but i may have to invest in unsanity's windowshade for that, as i do like "minimize in place".

well, all i can say is that he's finally broken me down. i must buy this piece of shareware.

well, everyone seems to get on everyone ELSE's ass 'round here for starting threads without doing a search first, so i decided -- for once -- to appease our moderator and administrative gods by making an example of this humble thread.

    enjoy!
