Remote Desktop - Remote Support

Hi, my friend needs a lot of technical support for his new Intel Mac and I need to control his computer via Remote Desktop (to avoid the hour long phone calls). We are obviously on two seperate wireless networks in different parts of the country.



It's fairly easy connecting two macs via VNC but I want to use my version of Remote Desktop.



Anyone know how I can do this (and fairly pain free)
