Importing music files, playlists etc.

I have all my files on an external hard drive which I added due to an initial lack of space.



Suggest the safest, even foolproof way to export the files from the external drive to a large internal hard drive please. I would hate to do all that work again!

Does the external contain all your files, including the Mac OS X system (i.e., is it your boot drive also)? If that's the case, the easiest thing to do is clone the external to the internal using either CarbonCopyCloner:

If the external drive just contains data files and non-Apple program files, you can copy the data and many/most of the program files by simply dragging the files from the external drive to the internal drive.
