What's the best newgroup reader app for OS X? Support for binary downloads from newsgroups? Is there one that is really good regular newsgroup reading, but isn't so hot at binarys or vice versa?

    Morning from sunny London

I only use newsgroups for mp3 binaries, and I've got a reasonably successful setup at the mo using MT-NewsWatcher X 3.2, with Rosetta and Decode da Code doing the background stitching together.

I say reasonably as MT-N is a bit quirky and has off days.

My next plan is to look into Thoth, which some have been advising as a replacement for MT-N.

Ngs are still a relatively new game to me, but I'd be happy to discuss the tips and tricks I've picked up so far

I tried hogwasher, and I liked it, but not enough to pay for it (and to be honest: you can't find serials for it).

The most stable one is Thoth (which I think has never crashed on me so far). It's a bit contra-intuitive at first, but once you have everything setup, it runs like the next champ.

Thoth is definitely the way to go.

    BTW: LONG LIVE USENET.
