while not *ahem* endorsing piracy of copyrighted audio content,
(and presuming your mac has the jacks for it)
run a loopback cable from the audio out (headphone jack if no line out) back into the audio in port (e.g.: a 1/4" walkman-style plug on both ends of the cable)
rather than drive speakers with the audio out, you've turned it into an audio input source
run both the dvd player software and an audio capture tool with enough oomph to grab clean to HD (not the inbuilt sound recorder - maybe iTunes, depends on OS version and what apps you've got access to)
N.B.:
if your mac doesn't have audio in ports per se, you can use a Griffin USB or other 3rd party audio breakout box to add this functionality
