TappyType for X? : Typewriter Sounds
I had a neat little extension a girl had written for Mac OS 8.x that would play typewriter sounds for any application you told it to do it for...it was really cool. I'm an old-time fan of typing on a typewriter. The whir of the fan and the clack of the keys is an audible assist to help me feel a rhythm of typing. If you've never typed on an IBM Selectric then you don't know what I'm talking about.
Anyway, I'd really like to have this feature in OS X. Do any of you know of an application that lets you assign key sounds to the keyboard? Like typewriter sounds and a nice BLING! when you hit the carriage return?
By the way kiddies, the reason the 'return' key is called the 'return' key is because on typewriters that was the key that made the carriage (the thing which moved your paper back and forth) go all the way back to the right so that you were lined up again on the left margin to begin typing a new line of text..
