I mean an official client. I tried Neo and downloads didn't work. I searched <a href="http://www.kazaa.com"; target="_blank">www.kazaa.com</a> for "mac" with Google and it didn't find anything. Kazaa Lite is Winblows only too... And iSwipe never works!

    No. Sorry. I was wondering the same thing.

    Looks like you'll have to get VPC, a PC, or a friend with a PC to help you out.

    Forget that Kazaa junk. Check out the following.. Acquisition @ <a href="http://xlife.org/,"; target="_blank">http://xlife.org/,</a>; Limewire @ <a href="http://www.limewire.com/"; target="_blank">http://www.limewire.com/</a>; and finally check out Hotlink Client @ <a href="http://www.tracker-tracker.com."; target="_blank">http://www.tracker-tracker.com.</a>;

    Between these 3 tools you should be able to find what ever it is your are looking for and get a working version of it. I've been using Hotline more now than my the other 2 but between the 3 you should be good to go.

    If you're on a 56k you're screwed downloading wise. That's it. My cable gets great speeds on Neo, and Aquisition. It's usually a 3/1 ratio on Aquisition, meaning you have to choose 3 of the same file to get 1 working copy. But it's all good. Neo I always get great speeds and full downloads; but the content is limited to the time you spend downloading new servers from the master list. Hotline is dead. Grab carracho if you're interested in any serious mac pirating, err... downloading.

    Just a side note, it is spelled Acquisition (formerly Aquisition, without the c, something about Aqua and Aqui, or some such, but the dev gave up on it )

    And EmAn is right, it does keep getting better.

    I yanked Myriad off of there (gnutella) last night (been wanting that font, but not willing to shell out however much it is for the entire collection.)

    Isn't Neo a Kazaa client of some kind? I have not used it in a while, but you can DL from Kazaa users using Neo, but there was no Sharing of your files with it.

    I was using it for a while. The developer would update, and add new features almost every day. It became anoying, but if you didn't want to update it it worked pretty well.

    I use Acquistion on 56k and I get every file I try to download, at goods download speeds. I wish there was a kazaa for mac becuase i have used it on pc's and it works very well. But for now Acquisition works the best out of them all. I tried limewire and I could never connect to the people who had the files.

    Yeah, it is but it's nowhere near good enough. I used it for a while but got sick of it.

    <strong>Isn't Neo a Kazaa client of some kind?</strong><hr></blockquote>Neo is what's called a brute-force client. It literally just pings huge ranges of IP addresses looking for computers that have an accessible KaZaA client. It keeps a record of these computers when it finds them and keeps moving on, looking for more. When you make a search, you actually are searching a cached list of available files that are found when scanning.

    A *real* KaZaA client would do nothing like this.

    KaZaA uses a central server that is used for searches. Unfortunately, this server is encrypted so only actual KaZaA clients can connect. That's why there are no good third-party solutions -- no one has been able to break the encryption and communicate with the master server.

    Acquisition SUCKS ASS! I can find files no problem, but they NEVER download. I two months I've downloaded ONE mp3 and it was corrupted.

    My most success is with:

    Limewire-Very nice for searching for mp3s, will also search for app backups and all.

    Carracho--the BEST! I've found lots of backups using this amazing tool.

    Forget crap like Neo and Acquisition, they are crap and will not properly download anything.

    For carracho, this link will get you started (after you download the client),

    <a href="http://www.tracker-tracker.com/carracho/index.php"; target="_blank">http://www.tracker-tracker.com/carracho/index.php</a>;

    Just search for FREE, and make sure you check "Show IP address". Now you're stylin'.

    I haven't been able to FIND any files on Acquisition until tonight...and them WHAM! I found files in quantities unseen since the days of Napster. For instance, 1800 Pearl Jam songs, 700+ playboy whatever- Only problem was most of the mp3's for I am Mine were corrupted. Which is bad, but not THAT bad since I was able to download the corruption at 200+ kbps thanks to all 50+ hosts per song lol.... I'm happy when I see more than 1 host per file on Limewire..

    I have completely changed my mind. Acquisition no longer sucks ass, IT KICKS ASS! I have no download trouble anymore!

    3 Simple Steps to Acquisition Goodness:

    1. Click on 3-Dot List-Item above the scroll bar and check "Speed of Host" (It's unchecked by default).

    2. Set list view to "Speed" (From highest to lowest, of course)

    3. Search/ Download/ Peruse away!
