If samsung and netgear both have products announced that will use wireless to send 1080p to the HDTV across the room or in the next room, when will Apple make a "serious" attempt to enter the home media market

I'll say it again. AppleTV is an underwhelming piece of hardware, they didn't spend the time to bring to market a world-beater product. I think Steve was too busy with iPhone to rip this to shreds and demand a redesign.
Miglia HD Tuner and EyeTV DVR software already out there (for OTA and clear QAM on cable).
Right now, it is a pain to get HD from the Miglia Mac to an HDTV in another location and Apple could have bridged that gap wirelessly and then you could be receiving wireless HD anywhere you put the Apple (HD) TV.
