Did I hear someone say 'not quite finished yet!'?

Oh, by the way, where do I send my cv?!

Positive from Apple... showing they are to keep developing. The problems they face at the moment obviously doesn't 'scare' them in any way

    Good to see.

The current model is pretty much finished I guess. They're applying for an FCC certificate after all. The job openings are for future iPhone revisions. And don't we all love these revisions...

On one hand it's a little scary they're posting these job openings AFTER announcing the thing.

On the other hand, with all the buzz about the iPhone they're sure to get plenty of applications!

They need to add a CDMA engineer to that roster if they want to really sell many of the iPhone here in the United States. They could also develop it for WiMax so I can use it on Sprint 4g

Sadly, I think CDMA is out of the question for Apple, at least for the forseeable future.

They also didn't mention 3G, though it may be under "other". Still, I'm surprised.

so who did all of this work for the iPhone that's releasing in June? i'm guessing it was all done freelance with a non-disclosure agreement... or did they say "hey you, you worked on garageband, find a camera to put in our new cellphone."

The iPhone could have been developped by the MacOS X (for the software) and the iPod team (for the hardware). It's likely that the iPhone processor is of the same architecture than the iPod one (a member of the ARM family).

For me, an iPhone is really a pocket Mac. Some years ago Microsoft called there handheld PocketPC, the iPhone is a versatile handheld having:

    A processor (ARM from Samsung?),

    RAM (128Mo?, 256Mo?),

    Some flash memory for storage,

    A Bluetooth adapter,

    A WIFI adapter,

A touch screen with a high definition.

From this point, any application could be possible (GPS, iWork, etc...). Time will tell...

Also, an iPod with Bluetooth could be really cool to stream music to a car stereo.
