new iSight

One of the new ads makes fun of [the] PC for having a strap-on web-cam. As we all know Apple no longer sells the iSight, but has yet to release a successor. After poking fun at clunky strap-on web-cams it seems unlikely to me that they would soon-after release a product which is essentially the same (albeit shiny).

Could this mean that displays with built-in iSight cameras are finally on their way? Ideally they would release new displays with built-in iSight cameras and higher resolutions, which would work very nicely with Leopards new features (new video conferencing features, resolution independence).

Any ideas? Am I crazy?

the new displays will not only have isight cams built in but will also be led driven... much thiner and brighter. (the LED may take a bit longer)

Anyone remember Apples camera in the LCD patent? That would get interesting.

I've always been curious about those Mac mini users. They don't have an iSight built in. FireWire iSight completely EOL?
