Does anyone know if any company has come out with a solution for adding 802.11n to the Core Duo MacBook Pros (as opposed to the Core 2 Duo).

Should have thought to check out the ExpressCard solutions. For the benefit of anyone else asking the same question:

I am not sure what their status is, in regards to Mac compatibility.

Apple sells AirPort Extreme cards in the online store. Would those be compatible with the MBP and if so would they support N?

Seems like Apple is a bit slow updating their Airport Extreme wireless card for 802.11n compatability. My housemate has ordered a new base station and I just missed the boat on getting 802.11n in my MacBook Pro Core (1) Duo.

I'm in the same boat. I want the wireless to work with the laptop, but I can get the card only in a new iMac or Mac Pro. Bummer... Especially since my new base station arrived today.

That would be true, but the ones in the store are for the old PCI based desktop cards if I remember correctly.

So can anyone confirm whether the MacBook Pro Core 1 Duos ARE actually upgradeable to 802.11n?

They are, but you need a 802.11n card from a Mac Pro and you need to do it yourself. Good luck. :P
