Auto launch an attachment emailed to a remote mac?
Hi there !
For me VPN is totally screwed in 10.4.7-8.
What I am wondering is - can I email the machine, that I would otherwise VPN into, and get it to automatically open an attachment at the remote machine and make it run. Setting up a smart folder or something of the sort to make it work like that,
or
Is it just easier to ssh into it and enter a shell command to say fire up and app and run the attachment (or copied file to a specific folder)
or
I guess I could vnc over a ssh tunnel..
The first option appeals because no mucking around with tunnels etc, if it can be done somehow what would be the method.
Thanks !

So you mean something like a virus?
Seriously though, your second idea using SSH to configure the necessary apps sounds like your best shot.
