I've been trying to fix this problem for nearly a month and FontBook will not open. There's a font I want to add to it, but sadly, as I stated before, FontBook will not open.
Does it crash or just not launch? Does it bounce in the dock and then just die again?
If it crashes can you post the crash log.
You can try clearing the font caches by booting into safe mode (hold shift while booting) then reboot into OS X. You can also try deleting your fontbook preferences in /Users/<username>/Library/prefs.
