sound problem in XP w/bootcamp

hi, im running xp on a mbp through bootcamp. the sound problem i'm having is that my stereomix(outbound) recording function does not work at all. if i set my recording to stereo mix, it does not record what i hear. does anyone know how to fix this problem?
