Check this out guys & gals: <a href="http://www.iconfactory.com/ip_home.asp"; target="_blank">http://www.iconfactory.com/ip_home.asp</a>;

What do you think? Usless waste of screen space, or useful info widget thingy?

    Nifty, but only useful if you keep the window up. On the dock, it's just too tiny to be read if you have more than a few items alongside it.

    For a resource monitor it sure takes up a lot of resources!

    mhmh. it sure looks cool, but it uses a lot of energy..

    To reduce the amount of CPU usage, lower the update speed (in the "Global" preference panel.) iPulse uses roughly the same amount of processor time that "top" does (it spends less time gathering data from the kernel, but more time in the window server.) We think it's a little easier to read than "top" :-)

    Wow. Now that's the neatest thing I've seen in quite a while. It's useful, interesting, and cool-looking.. with lots of neat options, too. A bit frivolous, perhaps, and somewhat resource-intensive, sure, but a pretty neat app for what it is, especially considering it's v1.0. I might just buy it.

    The only things I wish were different were that it were easier to remember what each part means.. like if there were tooltip-style rollovers or something. And it would be nice if it could be bigger than 128x128, and if the dock icon updating could be turned off in the prefs instead of an icky workaround so that it's no longer a regular application to fix that, as it suggests in the readme.

    Say, did you guys have help from Panic on this one?

    If you like iPulse, you will love <a href="http://www.konfabulator.com"; target="_blank">Konfabulator</a>.

    I personally can't wait for it. Go into the forums and look around a bit for some screen shots, there is some cool stuff going on there.

    Yeah, it does seem pretty neat. Reminds me a lot of Audion, my favorite-music-app-that-I-never-really-use.

    Yeah, Audion is pretty sweet but I still use iTunes because of its one-window interface. I even spent hours making <a href="http://www.grm.net/~spartian/artisan.jpg"; target="_blank">this</a> skin for Audion, but now I have deleted it (Audion, not the skin) from my HD...

    In the unlikely event that you want the skin just say so here and I will post it.

    if you set the time to update to 1.1sec it doesn't use as much resources anymore.

    Very clever ! And the UI is not confusing (once you've figured it out), i just love it. I don't use the floating window, the icon tells me everything i need to know about my system, instantly.

    But the clock has nothing to do with monitoring.

    And... how does the CPU gauge looks like in a dualy ? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">
