G3 iBook won't recognize Airport Card

I have a G3 iBook 600 MHz. I have installed two different Airport cards (017591/A and 017591/B) and neither one is recognized by the computer. I updated everything in OS 10.3.9 first and then went back to the original software restore (OS 9.2) to see if I lost something somewhere along the line. I also reset the PRAM and PMU and fixed permissions



It just plain won't show up. Any idea why or what I can do instead?
