Importing VHS into iMovie (macromedia)

Hi all:



I've been slowly converting my aging VHS video collection to DVD. I've run into some problems recently with copy-protected VHS tapes (I'm guessing the copy protection is by Macrovision). Is there any way for me to import my owned, purchased VHS tapes to my Mac and then burn them to DVD?



Here's my process:



AIWA VCR --> composite out to Canon Elura 100 (acts as DV bridge) --> FireWire 400 to iMac 20" intel.



All this is going to iMovie '06.



Anybody have any ideas? I've googled to death already.
