You might consider aperture instead?! I use aperture since a couple of months (with pics from my Canon 350D/ rebel xt) on my iMac and love it to pieces.

I have downloaded the trial version but haven't delved into it too much yet. Find the interface a little intimidating -- wasn't sure how extensive the editing functions were. Thought it was more of an organizational tool, rather than a photo editor...
