Would it be ok to use the old, white, wired Apple Pro mouse on a new Macbook? Would there be any incompatibility issues? I'm guessing there wouldn't be, but I just wanted to be sure.
As long as it's USB it'll work on a Mac. The software that comes with it might not work on a Mac, but who needs the extra software. Even on PCs I've never used it.

A mouse is a mouse is a mouse... you can use an Apple one, a Logitech one, a Microsoft one, a MacAlly one... whatever you like.
wrong. some mice are windows only.

Not if it is a USB mouse. Mac OS X may not be able to map all its buttons, but that is why products like USB Overdrive exist....

It'll likely work fine on a Mac. What makes you believe it won't?

It's the Windows software that won't, but nobody needs that anyway. USB Overdrive allows the programming of 16 buttons.
