I need the hash key for setting up a number to dial.

I can't find the hash key anywhere on the keyboard.

How do I get it?

Thanks.

Hash key? You mean #? Shift-3, but you're probably using a localized keyboard. You'll have to tell us which one for us to help you there.

Actually the right answer is: alt+3

System Preferences -> International -> Input Menu, turn on Keyboard Viewer in the list, and make sure Show input menu in menu bar is checked at the bottom.

In the top right, you should now see a menu with the flag corresponding to the country's keyboard layout, and in there, you should have a Show Keyboard Viewer menu item that should prove helpful to find such special characters (hold down modifier keys on your keyboard to see).
