I searched the forums and couldn't find anything on this , but: on my new macbook, the text on both safari and firefox can get very blurry at times. My 'i' will become an 'l' and i was wondering if there was a way to fix this so that my text came across clearer.

First thing to check is the anti-aliasing settings. Go to System Preferences->Appearance and play around with the "text smoothing" settings at the bottom of that pane.

You can turn of smoothing for text under a certain point size, because it does more harm than good below a certain size, depending on the display.

Typically browsers present you with a lot of small text where other apps don't, so it may be system wide and you just don't notice elsewhere.

You should also make sure your display is set to its native resolution (System Preferences->Displays.) Anything other than that will make your display look much softer than it needs to.
