Netmonitor

I installed netmonitor...



and i have seen that when my machine is idle, something is downloading information from the internet... how can i find out what is doing this? It also only seems to happen at night...



any application out there that can help me out?

    have you installed something like Seti@home or folding@home ?

    Are you sure nothing like Mail is running? What about Software Update?



    Well, there are a few things that you can do to check what's going on in the terminal. netstat is the first that comes to mind. Though, I prefer to use BrickHouse set the firewall to block and log ALL incoming and outgoing traffic, start the firewall, and then check the logs to see what ports are being used.
