Using one icon with multiple icon programs?

I'm trying to use downloaded icons from xicons.com and certain programs such as Fire and Omniweb will not work with them. For example, in OW, when you change the icon it works fine until you actually open the program when the dock icon reverts back to the old icon. I've tried messing around with the contents in Fire and OW and I can't seem to get it right. Can someone please help?

    In Fire, this is the icon file to replace:

    Contents/Resources/Fire.icns



    In OmniWeb:

    Contents/Resources/OmniWeb.icns



    OmniWeb actively reloads its icon from the original file because of how it does it dock notification, IIRC. Fire probably does the same thing.

    It does. Fire displays the connected services and amount of online buddies on its icon.
