GMail --> Apple Mail

So, to start off, I decided to use Apple Mail on my new iMac. I have a GMail account, and can't get Apple Mail to retrieve all my emails. I can only get ~200 unread emails from May 4th on, but I still have like 500 unread emails dating all the way back to the beginning of the year. (yes, i'm too lazy to read them all.)

Is there anyway for Apple Mail to retrieve my entire mailbox? I know on Thunderbird on my PC, it retrieved EVERY email i have in my mailbox, but I can't find any way at all on Apple Mail to do the same. Can someone help me?

    Have you tried changing POP settings in Gmail settings? If you go to the Forwarding and POP section, there is an option to "Enable POP for ALL MAIL."

    O, I had my POP settings set to "Enable POP for all mail received after 9:41, May 4." Thanx for the help!
