Conversations across the net..

I'm interested in purchasing a microphone for the specific purpose of talking to my friends over the net, who use Windows XP, but I do not know if such software exists?



If it does. How much does it cost? Preferably I'm looking for something low key, as in only 32kbps quality voice chat (I have ADSL), so that when I play games or want to chat it is easier. Can this be done?

    Voice chat is built into Windows Messenger, but I know of no cross platform solution to talk between a Mac and Windows.
