are there going to updates to the laptop line with the release of leopard?
im looking to upgrade from my mb around that time

It's hard to say what Apple is going to do before they announce a product or update. Before Leopard...? I don't know.

Not likely. The "MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo)" revision lasted eight months, there's no reason to believe that the "MacBook Pro (2.4/2.2GHz)" revision will only last four.
However, I can see a Mac Pro update coming alongside Leopard.

What about a MacBook update late november .. then it will be close to the average 202 days between updates..

Yeah, a macbook update in oct/nov is very possible and probably expected, but it would be too soon (IMO) for a MBP one. I expect around MWSF for that.

The Macbook will be updated in the September/October time-frame. It'll be updated after the iPod promotion is over.
Penryn is due out end of this year or early next, so MWSF for MBPs makes sense.

Yeah, a macbook update in oct/nov is very possible and probably expected, but it would be too soon (IMO) for a MBP one. I expect around MWSF for that.
