Only thing likely IMO would be a refresh of the 17" MBP with LED backlight

It's hard to say what Apple is going to do before they announce a product or update. Before Leopard...? I don't know.

Not likely. The "MacBook Pro (Core 2 Duo)" revision lasted eight months, there's no reason to believe that the "MacBook Pro (2.4/2.2GHz)" revision will only last four.

However, I can see a Mac Pro update coming alongside Leopard.

What about a MacBook update late november .. then it will be close to the average 202 days between updates..

Yeah, a macbook update in oct/nov is very possible and probably expected, but it would be too soon (IMO) for a MBP one. I expect around MWSF for that.

The Macbook will be updated in the September/October time-frame. It'll be updated after the iPod promotion is over.

Penryn is due out end of this year or early next, so MWSF for MBPs makes sense.
