I hadn't seen anything about it here, so I thought I'd post it. Sure, it's not anything you can't do with a few terminal commands, but it's free.

Ooh, thanks torifile, I hadn't noticed that... come to think of it, normally there's a .Mac newsletter about these things, and I haven't seen one mentioning more free stuff.

Now I'm just trying to think of the last time I needed to compress something...

No problem, overhope. I guess I'm here to look over you, eh? How's that new mini working out for you? I love mine.

But I'm in the same boat....nothing to compress and no option to strip resource forks for windows users. That's the only reason I'd use it.... oh well. I love .mac.

The Powerbook thing has been rather hilarious: it seems I'm getting the last one in the London area...

Bright and early, I went to buy one this morning, only to find that everyone has sold out! Wah! Finally I found a store that said they had one in their branch on the other side of town, so I hightailed it over there, eventually tracked down the person I spoke to, but she'd got her wires crossed and it turns out the last one they have is in a warehouse a good 20 miles away... So, the nice lady spoke to the guys at the warehouse, and they're putting it on their regular delivery run, which will be arriving in about 2 hours' time.

Oh, and my credit card company barfed and refused the transaction, so that was a 5-minute phone call to convince them that, yes, I did want to make that big a purchase right now...

The anticipation is killing me... especially as the 512MB SO-DIMM I ordered arrived about 8:30am and is looking a bit lonely on the table. Ho-hum, back to deleting stuff from my Classic system so it will fit on a CD... DIsk Copy is churning away as I speak.
