Screen Dims and Brightens

Hey all,



I have been having a problem with my Macbook Pro. Sometimes the screen dims and brightens for seemingly no reason. An hour ago, I was working on it and then suddenly the screen became brighter, and then dimmed slightly, and then a couple minutes became brighter again. During a movie it did the same thing. I encounter this problem once every couple of days. Is it supposed to be doing this?

    The screen automatically adjusts for the ambient light. The sensors are in the sides with the speakers, so it's understandable if your hand moves over them when you are working and the screen dims.



    You can turn it off under display preferences.
